  • In January, the operation of another radio and TV broadcasting station in Gubadly region was resumed.
  • In January, the management of the C and Ku frequency bands operated by  Azerspace-1 satellite at 46° East orbital position  was registered in the name of the Government of Azerbaijan. The registration was approved by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
  • In 2024, more than 1.06 million homes, flats and businesses in Baku and the regions were provided with access to high-speed, fixed broadband Internet. In total, about 3 million households are covered by high-speed, fixed broadband Internet.
  • In January, Azerpost LLC held a briefing on the results of 2023.
  • In February, the electronic service of preparing an electronic consignment note and trip ticket in electronic form was put into use.
  • In March, a new transport exchange center was set up near Ganjlik metro station in order to ensure convenient travel for passengers.
  • In April, Azerpost LLC launched the Internet Banking service. This service allows customers to carry out a number of banking operations online, safely and conveniently.
  • Starting from 27 April 2024, citizens could travel by private cars not only to Shusha city and Sugovushan settlement, but also to Lachin city.
  • In May, Azerpost LLC issued postage stamps within the framework of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World”.
  • In May, the first test transportation was launched under the pilot project “China –Europe Direct Express Crossing –Trans-Caspian Test Transportations” started within the framework of the pilot project.
  • On 4 June, at the annual session of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council in Geneva, Switzerland, Azerbaijan was approved as the host country for the organisation’s World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) in 2025.
  • In July, a Framework Agreement was signed with a Chinese BYD Company Limited (BYD), to provide our country’s bus fleet with local production. The Framework Agreement provides for purchase of electric buses, their maintenance and the establishment and localization of production in our country.
  • In July, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport held a briefing on the amendments to the Law “On Road Traffic” and the Code of Administrative Offences.
  • In July, a briefing was held on the status of the implementation of the decree on the allocation of financial resources for the expansion of the radio broadcasting network in the country.
  • In July, a meeting  was held at the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport with representatives of taxi companies operating in Azerbaijan.
  • Within the framework of the Great Return Program, Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency launched a regular bus service Barda–Khankendi on September 14.
  • In September, during his visit to China, Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with the heads of Chinese leading logistics companies operating along Middle Corridor and officials from provinces, Liu Zhenfang, chairman of China State Railway Administration, Li Xiaopeng, Minister of Transport of China, Song Zhiyong, head of the Civil Aviation Administration of China and Yung Tae Kim, Secretary-General of the International Transport Forum (ITF).
  • In October, Minister Rashad Nabiyev visited Türkiye. During the visit, Rashad Nabiyev met with Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu and Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation of Afghanistan Hamidullah Akhundzada.
  • Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) launched a regular bus route to Lachin city on  October 13.
  • In October, a briefing was organized in Geneva on the Green Digital Action initiative to be held during COP29.
  • A project proposed for the central part of the capital, Icherisheher and Aziz Aliyev Street, started to be implemented in Baku within the framework of the Mobility Transformation Program on October 27.
  • In October, eleven young Azerbaijanis were granted the right to study at the Russian University of Transport with the support of the MDDT.
  • On 31 October, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inspected the new-generation metro trains assembled by Baku Metro CJSC in Baku.
  • On 31 October, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev reviewed the activities of Zigh Electric Bus Depot in Baku.
  • In November, AYNA organized a media tour to the Single Monitoring Center of Electronic Scales.
  • COP29, the world’s largest and most influential climate change event, was successfully held in Azerbaijan from 11–22 November. A historic agreement on climate finance was reached: a New Collective Quantified Target was adopted, setting a global target of providing developing countries with $300 billion per year by 2035.
  • The Ministry directly organized four major events at COP29. The first ever Digitalization Day at COP29 was successfully held, and over 1000 stakeholders supported the Declaration on Green Digital Action. A communiqué was adopted reflecting the collective commitment to advance sustainability and digital transformation in the Middle Corridor.
  • As part of COP29, a document was signed with BYD to localize the production of buses with electric motors. Based on the agreement signed with the company, 160 BYD electric buses were brought to our country as a pilot within the framework of the COP29 conference and launched on route lines.
  • A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the European Investment Bank (EIB) during the COP29 event. According to the Memorandum, the parties will cooperate to prepare and fully evaluate the project for the renewal, expansion and modernization of the Baku Metro network.
  • In November, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the establishment of the public law entity Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON).
  • A workshop on “Past, Present and Future of Radio Broadcasting in Azerbaijan” organized by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the Audiovisual Council was held in December.
  • In December, an agreement on the development of transit freight transport between Azerbaijan and Russia was signed. The purpose of the agreement, which defines issues of cooperation on the development of railway infrastructure and transit traffic is to improve the efficiency of transport links and increase the potential of the western route of the North-South ITC.
  • In 2024, special bus lanes were created on 37 streets and avenues of Baku city (with a total length of over 110 km). Three new transport exchange centers (hubs) were also put into operation.
  • Thirty-five kilometers of bicycle lanes have been created.
  • In 2024, work was carried out to regulate the taxi service sector, and the age limit of passenger taxis was reduced to 8 years from the year of manufacture.
  • In 2024, three route lines were organized to the territories liberated from occupation.
