Subgroup on creation of a unified information system of public utilities holds meeting

On May 30, 2025, a regular meeting of the subgroup on the creation of a unified information system of public utilities under the Technology and Innovation Working Group of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings was held. The meeting was attended by Vusal Shikhaliyev, Sector Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Industrial Affairs at the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Samir Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Farid Osmanov, Head of the subgroup, Chairman of the Board of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, as well as officials of public utility companies – Azerishig OJSC, ADSEA (Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency), Azerigaz PA, Azeristiliktachizat OJSC and other members of the subgroup.

Speaking at the meeting, First Deputy Chairman of Azerishig Open Joint-Stock Company Ramil Yusifov said that experts from Ernst & Young and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) companies, who have extensive experience in studying international experience, have been involved in the implementation of measures envisaged in the Road Map. He also noted that proposals and a mechanism for the implementation of four points have already been prepared and submitted to the Commission.

The meeting heard detailed reports on the work done within the framework of the prepared Roadmap for the creation of a unified information system of public utilities, as well as extensive discussions were held on the current status of the measures taken, the concept document on the formation of a single subscriber code for public utilities, the system of financing mechanisms and the tasks ahead.
