Physical infrastructure indicators widely discussed in Global Innovation Index 2024

On 1 October, the Physical Infrastructure Working Group of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, which is led by the  Ministry of Digital Development and  Transport,  held its regular meeting.

The meeting was attended by representatives of government agencies and public organizations that are members of the working group.

Current issues related to the working group’s activities were discussed at the meeting, chaired by Javid Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport,  head of the Working Group.

Speaking at the meeting, Vusal Shikhaliyev, head of the sector of monitoring, coordination and evaluation of economic reforms of the  Department of Economic Policy and Industrial Issues of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, head of the Secretariat of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings of the Republic of Azerbaijan said that in international reports, especially in the Global Innovation Index 2024 report, special attention should be paid to the methodology of data systematization to ensure the completeness of indicators for our country.

Then, representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Ministry of Energy, Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC and Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC presented reports on the work done by them during 9 months of 2024, and related issues were discussed.

Based on the results of the discussions, appropriate decisions were made to address the upcoming issues, and recommendations were given to accelerate and optimize the implementation process.

In conclusion, questions of interest to members of the working group and other participants were answered.
