About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev visited Georgia

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev was on visit to Georgia.

As part of the visit, the minister visited the Tetritskaro railway station in order to familiarize himself with the construction of infrastructure facilities under the project of the new Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway.

In addition, Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili.

The meeting discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation and development prospects, as well as issues of taking joint measures to increase the volume of cargo transportation through the new Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway line and speeding up the work planned on the territory of Georgia under the project.
