About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev Takes Part in Panel Discussion at 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev took part in the “Azerbaijan Infrastructure Investment Dialogue: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Infrastructure” panel discussion organised by the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan and BlackRock as part of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum.

The panel discussion focused on the opportunities created by Azerbaijan’s energy potential, extensive fibre-optic network and strategic geographic location for the development of artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure. The work carried out in the areas of digital government, artificial intelligence, national data infrastructure and cybersecurity was highlighted, with an emphasis on Azerbaijan’s goal of becoming a regional digital industry hub.
