About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with representatives of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Cybersecurity Council in Abu Dhabi.

It was stated at the meeting that Azerbaijan is implementing a centralized and comprehensive approach to national cybersecurity, and that this model is based on priorities such as infrastructure protection, cloud technologies, and cross-sector resilience.

As part of bilateral cooperation with the UAE, which has extensive experience in this field, discussions were held on cybersecurity and AI-based automation, certification programs, cybersecurity training, human capital development, as well as the organization of dual-degree programs and exchanges between universities of both countries.
