About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with ITF Secretary-General

As part of his visit to China, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with Young Tae Kim, the Secretary-General of the International Transport Forum (ITF).

During the meeting, the sides discussed Azerbaijan’s presidency in the ITF for 2025–2026, priorities in this direction and cooperation with the organization.

They also exchanged views on the implementation of relevant work in connection with the ministerial meeting on “Green Public Transport” to be held in our country within the framework of COP29.
