About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with IRU Secretary General

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev has met with Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) Umberto de Pretto, who is on a visit to our country.

The issue of enhancing cooperation between IRU and Azerbaijan to take appropriate measures for the development and digitalization of the Middle Corridor was discussed at the meeting.

An exchange of views also took place on the issue of involving Azerbaijani specialists in IRU activities.
