About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with China’s Minister of Transport

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with China’s Minister of Transport Li Xiaopeng.

The meeting discussed the current state of relations between Azerbaijan and China in the field of transport and prospects for further development, cooperation within the Middle Corridor.

The sides exchanged views on improving the regulatory and legal framework between the two countries, as well as expanding cooperation with the Chinese side in the fields of road and railway transport, public and air transport.

During the meeting, the Chinese Minister of Transport was invited to attend the ministerial meetings on “Sustainable and Digital Middle Corridor” and “Green Public Transport” to be held within the framework of COP29 in our country.
