About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev Meets with Secretary-General of Digital Cooperation Organization

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) Deemah AlYahya.

The meeting addressed digital transformation, artificial intelligence, innovation, cybersecurity, the development of digital skills, and the expansion of joint initiatives.

An exchange of views was held on opportunities for cooperation in bringing Azerbaijan’s digital solutions to international markets, developing the startup ecosystem, digitalising transport, and strengthening regional connectivity.

The meeting also saw the signing of the Organization’s Charter as part of Azerbaijan’s membership in the DCO. The signed Charter was presented to the DCO Secretary-General.
