About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev Meets with GIP Founding Partner, Chairman and CEO

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with Adebayo Ogunlesi, Founding Partner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), as part of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum.

The meeting discussed prospects for developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and GIP, investment opportunities, and potential participation in regional projects, including the development of the Middle Corridor. In view of Azerbaijan’s growing capabilities in transport and logistics and digital infrastructure, an exchange of views was held on potential investment opportunities in logistics, digital infrastructure and data centres.
