About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev meets with delegation from IDB Group

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev has met with a delegation led by Walid Abdelwahab, Director of the Turkish Regional Office of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group, who is on a visit to our country.

The meeting focused on cooperation in the transport and ICT sectors.

The guests were informed about the measures being taken in the railway and port sectors in the country, including those aimed at increasing the population’s access to high-speed broadband Internet.
