About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Deputy Minister Rahman Hummatov met with head of Latvian Investment and Development Agency

Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummatov has met with Director General of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia Kaspars Rozkalns, who is on a visit to our country.

The meeting focused on cooperation in the field of transport links between the two countries. Cargo transportation between the Baltic and the Caspian seas was also considered. In this regard, issues related to the search for suitable routes and transportation of goods on these routes were brought to the attention.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed the issues of establishing cooperation in future in the field of digitalization of transport, including ICT, cybersecurity and smart cities.
