Baktelecom provides broadband services in Garadagh district

Baku Telephone Communications LLC (Baktelecom) continues its work on upgrading telecommunications infrastructure and bringing it in line with modern international standards within the framework of the Online Azerbaijan project. At the next stage, the necessary equipment was installed and put into operation in Garadagh district for the construction of a GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Networks) fiber optic network providing fast and uninterrupted access to the Internet.

Work to lay cable on the basis of GPON technology was carried out in the district, a network covering the whole territory was built, and 60,000 households were covered with high-speed Internet. Currently, 24,400 subscribers use the GPON services.

With the introduction of the new GPON technology, subscribers are offered high-speed Internet packages (from 30 Mbit/s to 250 Mbit/s). Subscribers who choose these packages will be able to use not only Internet services, but also such packages as Internet+telephony, Internet+television (two in one), and Internet+telephony+television (three in one).

The cost of services varies from 18 to 100 AZN, depending on the selected tariff and user requirements.

To connect to the services, citizens can contact 155 Call Center of Baku Telephone Communications LLC, Communications Service Center №6 (address: Lokbatan settlement, Garadagh district, 16 N.Narimanov St.) or apply online through the website www.baktelecom.az.

Relevant work on the application of modern technologies to provide high-speed Internet in other regions of the country is also going on as planned within the framework of the Online Azerbaijan project, implemented by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

It should be noted that in 11 months of 2023, about 888 thousand households in Azerbaijan got access to broadband Internet. In total, some 1.7 million households are covered by broadband Internet access. This represents 58% of existing households in the country, and it is planned to increase this figure to 60% by the end of this year.
