Azerbaijan Represented at ITF Transport Research Committee Meeting

Azerbaijan was represented at an extraordinary meeting of the International Transport Forum’s (ITF) Transport Research Committee. Held online, the meeting focused on discussing proposals for Country-Specific Policy Analysis (CSPA) projects for 2027, assessing their alignment with the ITF’s areas of activity, and identifying priority projects.

The discussions were conducted in accordance with the new CSPA approval process adopted during Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship of the ITF in 2025–2026. This approach enables a more systematic assessment of projects.

Potential CSPA projects for 2027 were discussed during the meeting. The proposals were subsequently reviewed by the Transport Research Committee.

Alish Ismayilov, a long-term seconded representative of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MDDT) to the ITF and a member of the ITF Transport Research Committee, put forward his proposals regarding the projects presented.

Azerbaijan actively participates in international research and policy dialogue in the field of transport within the ITF framework. During Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship of the ITF in 2025–2026, important initiatives were put forward to further systematize the Forum’s research activities and cooperation with member countries. The establishment of a new structured process for the selection and approval of CSPA projects is also one of the steps taken in this direction.
