Another 100 Students Graduate from Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center

The sixth “Graduation Day” of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center—established jointly by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), and Israel’s Technion – Israel Institute of Technology—was held, marking the completion of this training cycle for a total of 100 newly trained cybersecurity specialists.

At the opening of the event, speeches were delivered by Samir Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport; Ronen Kraus, Ambassador of Israel to Azerbaijan; Moti Yeger, General Director of the Center for Continuing Education at the Technion Institute of Technology; and Tugra Musayeva, representative of PASHA Holding.

In his speech, Samir Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, spoke about the initiatives carried out across the country to strengthen cybersecurity in both the public and private sectors and to develop a national cybersecurity ecosystem: “Within the framework of implementing the strategic documents approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the projects  implemented by the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center are of particular significance. The Center plays a key role in training professional cybersecurity specialists and instructors, strengthening human capital, and contributing to the formation of a national cybersecurity ecosystem.”

As part of the event, the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center’s “CyberPark” project was presented, followed by a capstone project presentation from a team of graduates. The team demonstrated the solutions they had developed and highlighted the results achieved by applying the knowledge and skills gained during their training to real-world cybersecurity challenges.

At the conclusion of the event, the 100 graduates were officially presented with their graduation certificates by the distinguished guests.

As part of the concluding program, a “Career Fair” was held, where participants met with human resources representatives from various companies and organizations. They discussed career opportunities, internship and employment programs, and prospects for professional development, while also benefiting from valuable networking opportunities.

It is worth noting that students at the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center are trained by international experts through “Red Team” (offensive), “Blue Team” (defensive), and “Purple Team” exercises, gaining hands-on experience with the most advanced methodologies, strategies, and technologies in the field of cybersecurity. To date, 480 individuals have graduated from the Center, while 60 students are currently continuing their education as part of the seventh cohort. The graduate employment rate stands at 86 percent, with alumni employed across government institutions as well as leading local and international companies.
