African countries show keen interest in Azerbaijan’s digital government solutions

A session on “Digitalization in Azerbaijan” was held during the opening ceremony of the Regional Acceleration Center of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

The session, attended by over 50 foreign delegates from various African countries, was addressed by Salar Imamaliyev, Chief Commercial Officer of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), who briefed participants on Azerbaijan’s significant achievements in digital transformation in recent years. He noted that Azerbaijan’s successful digital development model has sparked growing interest in African nations: “Azerbaijan’s advanced digital government solutions, including MyGov, MyGov ID, Digital Document Circulation, and digital.bridge, are being explored by countries across the African continent. At IDDA, we are assessing the potential for applying Azerbaijan’s digital development experience in several African countries.”

He also emphasized that in addition to digital government solutions, products developed by resident companies at IDDA’s Technology Park have the potential for export to African markets. Several companies within the Technology Park already offer products and services that are highly competitive in global markets.
