A briefing was held on the implementation status of the order on the allocation of financial resources for the expansion of the radio broadcasting network in the country
On July 22, a briefing was held on the implementation status of the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan ”On the allocation of financial resources for the expansion of the radio broadcasting network in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan" dated July 24, 2023.
The purpose of the Order is to ensure the broadcasting of programs of nationwide radio channels throughout the country by carrying out improvement works in the radio broadcasting network, to provide state support to private broadcasters in this direction, as well as to create the possibility of receiving radio signals at the same radio frequency in certain areas by applying new technologies, and as a result to increase the accessibility of the population to local radio programs.
The briefing was attended by the head of the sector of the Department of Work and Communication with Non-governmental Organizations of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmir Velizade, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov, head of the Apparatus of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fazil Novruzov, heads and representatives of the "Radio-Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communication" Production Union (Teleradio PU) and the State Radio Frequencies Department of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, as well as media subjects.
During the speeches on the implementation of the Order, it was noted that the Order is a great contribution to the development of the media in general and is an example of serious support provided by the state to FM radio broadcasters. In this regard, it was emphasized that it is no coincidence that the briefing was held on the National Press Day.
It was noted that 176 FM radio transmitters, 60 sets of antenna systems, 48 summators, 67 satellite equipment, 44 RDS (Radio Data System) devices intended for modernization and expansion of the radio broadcasting network were supplied from outside the country.
As well as 17 stations allocated 127 new radio frequency denominations. Coordination of allocated radio frequency denominations with neighboring countries continues.
Broadcasting equipment has already been installed at the vast majority of planned stations and test broadcasts have started. Currently, maintenance and repair works are underway at the stations.
At the same time, intensive work is being carried out to create the necessary infrastructure for uninterrupted energy supply and solve other envisaged issues.
As a result of the implementation of the Order, it will be possible to receive nationwide radio programs transmitted in Baku city and the Absheron peninsula in the regions of our country. Thus, the number of local radio programs received in the regions will increase in proportion to the number of outside FM radio broadcasts from neighboring countries.
