Yacht sailing training held for children of martyrs and veteran communications workers

A yacht sailing training was held for children of martyrs and veteran communications workers. The training was jointly organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the Azerbaijan Sailing Federation and Public Union Zafar: Support for Martyrs’ Families.

The training, which was attended by 20 participants aged from 8 to 16 years old, was dedicated to June 25 –  Day of the Seafarer and the 140th anniversary of the establishment of telephone communications in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The training aimed to acquaint children with sailing, to arouse their interest and desire for this sport, to provide them with information on how to operate boats.

The children of martyrs and veteran communications workers were taught how to use a sailing boat, how to fight against the wind in the open sea, how to choose the direction of the wind, and how to operate boats safely. 

At the same time, children enjoyed sailing on the high seas and entertaining games organized on the beach.
