Working Group on Innovation holds regular meeting

The Working Group on Innovation, established in order to fully and timely realize the action lines under Objective 3.2 (Creative and Innovative Society) of the Action Plan of the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026, has held its regular meeting. The meeting discussed the report on monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the goals of the Strategy for 2024 in the first half of the year.

Samir Mammadov, Chairman of the Working Group, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, made an opening speech, describing the purpose of the meeting and the work done during the reporting period.

Advisor to the Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) Tarana Salifova spoke about the main indicators of the monitoring conducted.

Agil Asadov, Deputy Chairman of the Working Group, Head of the Strategic Planning Department of CAERC, presented the monitoring and evaluation report, highlighted the work done on the target indicators, main tasks and recommendations.

Then the members of the Working Group discussed the report and gave their opinions and suggestions.

It should be noted that in order to ensure full, timely and effective implementation of the measures envisaged in the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026” and to coordinate the activities of relevant state bodies, eight working groups were established to this end by Order No. 487 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 12 June 2023. The Working Group on Innovation implements Objective 3.2 of the Strategy and coordinates the activities of relevant state bodies.

In addition to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and CAERC, the Working Group  on Innovation includes the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Science and Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Defense Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Energy, as well as Central Bank, State Customs Committee, State Committee on Work with Diaspora, State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, State Agency for Water Resources, State Migration Service, State Border Service, Intellectual Property Agency and heads of relevant departments and divisions of ANAS.
