Working Group on Innovation Holds Next Meeting

The next meeting of the Working Group on Innovation was held with the participation of representatives of the relevant government agencies.

The meeting discussed in detail the results of the monitoring and evaluation of the measures under Goal 3.2 (“Creative and Innovative Society”) of the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026” conducted by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) for the first half of 2026. Proposals and recommendations were put forward to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the tasks set. At the same time, given that 2026 is the final year for the implementation of the Strategy, relevant instructions were issued to ensure that the outstanding measures are completed by the end of 2026.

According to the operational results of the monitoring and evaluation conducted by the CAERC for the first half of 2026, the implementation rates of the initial and interim outcome indicators for the measures stood at 83% and 47%, respectively.

At the same time, pursuant to Order No. 487s of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 12 June 2022, various working groups, including the Working Group on Innovation, were established to ensure the full and timely implementation of the measures under the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026” and to coordinate the activities of the relevant government agencies.

The Working Group on Innovation is chaired by Rashad Hasanov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport. The Working Group includes senior officials from the CAERC, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Defence Industry, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Energy,  as well as the Central Bank, the State Customs Committee, the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Agency for Water Resources, the State Migration Service, the State Border Service, the Intellectual Property Agency, and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).
