Solar-Powered Autonomous Radio Monitoring Station Commissioned in Kalbajar
Efforts to expand radio monitoring capabilities across the country, ensure more efficient management of the radio frequency spectrum, and deploy modern technologies continue. As part of these efforts, another solar-powered autonomous radio monitoring station (RMS) has been installed and commissioned in Kalbajar.
The station, equipped with modern technologies, including software-defined radio (SDR) receivers, enables remote, real-time monitoring of radio broadcasting services and the radio frequency spectrum in Kalbajar and the surrounding areas. The newly established infrastructure enables more efficient and flexible radio monitoring operations.
The autonomous RMS provides advanced technical capabilities, enabling round-the-clock remote access to the station, real-time monitoring of spectrum occupancy, analysis of measurement data, and remote control of radio monitoring operations.
The station has been modernized in line with current technological requirements, drawing on the operational experience of other radio monitoring stations. A video surveillance system has also been installed. In addition, a remote control function has been implemented, enabling the remote activation and deactivation of equipment for more efficient use of energy resources.
The commissioning of the autonomous RMS in Kalbajar marks the next phase in ongoing efforts to strengthen radio frequency spectrum monitoring and enhance radio monitoring capabilities in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.
As part of the implementation of the First State Program on the Great Return to the Territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan Liberated from Occupation, the State Administration of Radio Frequencies has established autonomous radio monitoring stations in Shusha, Lachin, Zangilan, Aghdam and Kalbajar. In addition, radio monitoring, measurements, technical inspections and visual inspections are carried out in the liberated territories in accordance with the approved work plan and relevant instructions.
