The second trilateral meeting of ministers of foreign affairs and ministers in charge of transport of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkiye was held in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
At the event, discussions were held on coordinated cooperation between the countries in transport, transit, communications, trade and a number of other areas.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev said that the first meeting in this format was held in Baku in June this year: “The fact that we are meeting with you again after only a few months, and in a more extended format – together with colleagues from Georgia – proves that the Baku meeting proved to be very fruitful.”
The minister noted that over the past period we have achieved significant results. Necessary work, such as the optimization of Azerbaijan Railways processes, reduction of delivery times, introduction of Operations Management Service, organization of video conferences, establishment of the Mid-Term Planning Service and development of the Road Map have been carried out within the framework of joint cooperation.
“It is indisputable that the progress achieved shows the willingness of all parties involved to take the necessary measures to further improve the competitiveness and quality of services along the Middle Corridor,” Rashad Nabiyev stressed.
The meeting resulted in signing the Road Map 2022–2027 for the development and operation of the Middle Corridor route passing through the territories of Azerbaijan, Turkiye and Kazakhstan.
