Postage stamp cancellation ceremony dedicated to 100th anniversary of Academician Zarifa Aliyeva held

A postage stamp cancellation ceremony dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the outstanding Azerbaijani scientist, honored scientist, doctor of medical sciences, professor, full member of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Zarifa Aziz gizi Aliyeva was held at the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

In his speech, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev spoke about the merits of Zarifa Aliyeva to the country as an ophthalmologist-scholar and public figure. The minister underlined those who knew Zarifa Aliyeva personally always spoke of her as a great person, real intellectual, a noble and compassionate woman. She is always remembered with great love and respect as life companion of great leader Heydar Aliyev.

Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry Siruz Abasbeyli and Chairman of the Union  of Philatelists of Azerbaijan Intigam Baghirli spoke about the contribution of academician Zarifa Aliyeva to the medical science of Azerbaijan and her rich heritage.

Then the ceremony of cancelling the postage stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Zarifa Aliyeva took place.

It should be noted that the commemorative stamp dedicated to Zarifa Aliyeva has been prepared by Azerpost LLC in the form of a souvenir sheet of one postage stamp and printed at Bobruisk Integrated Printing House in Belarus with a print run of 4000 copies. In the design of the souvenir sheet, special attention was paid to color psychology as well. In the symbolism of colors, green has many positive meanings, and most importantly, it represents life, health, happiness, harmony, and spiritual wealth.
