About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Physical Infrastructure Working Group holds next meeting

The next online meeting of the Physical Infrastructure Working Group of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the results of current year was held on December 23, 2021.

Having declared the meeting open, the Head of the Working Group, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rovshan Rustamov spoke in detail about the activities of the group in 2021.

At the event, the participants were informed about the status of implementation of the decisions in the minutes of the group’s previous meeting, the assessment of the implementation of the activities reflected in the Action Plan for 2021, and a report on the results of this assessment.

Then the meeting discussed the work to be done next year and the draft Action Plan of the working group for 2022.
