Panel Discussion Held as Part of European Mobility Week

A panel discussion titled “Sustainable Urban Mobility: Integrating Public Transport and Micromobility” was held in Baku as part of European Mobility Week.

The event addressed public transport regulation, the expansion of micromobility lanes, and the development of pedestrian infrastructure.

Representatives of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation held discussions with experts.

The first part of the panel discussion focused on urban planning and transport infrastructure standards, efforts to reduce car dependency, and measures taken to promote the use of public transport and micromobility modes.

The second part of the discussion was dedicated to the prospects for micromobility development. The event addressed the safety of bicycle and scooter users, fostering a culture of micromobility among young people, and promoting healthy lifestyles.

It should be noted that, as part of European Mobility Week, held from 16 to 22 September, AYNA carried out a number of awareness-raising activities and initiatives related to urban mobility, sustainable transport, and alternative mobility options.
