About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Online panel “GovTech Industry in Eurasia” held

An online panel entitled “GovTech Industry in Eurasia” was held. The event was organized by the strategic center StrategEast.

At the event, Azerbaijan was represented by Rashad Azizov, head of Innovations and Digital Development Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies.

The topic of discussion was cooperation between local and global tech companies to implement the GovTech solutions, financing these solutions and attracting investments.

Moreover, there was also discussion on the possibilities of creating unified solutions for the Eurasian region, the importance of education in this area and other issues.
