Names of winning Azerbaijani teams at TEKNOFEST Turkiye 2023 became known

TEKNOFEST aerospace technology festival was held in Istanbul, Turkiye, from April 27 through May 1.

 

Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and organized by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, our country was represented at the festival with an area of 200 square metre national pavilion.

 

During the event, President of Turkiye  Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented President Ilham Aliyev with a commemorative postage stamp and  the first day cover, prepared by the Turkish Post on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the great son of the Turkic world.

 

In the national pavilion, where the Space Agency of Azerbaijan – Azercosmos was also present, active propaganda work was carried out in connection with the holding of the International Astronautical Congress in Baku on October 2–6. Therefore, young researchers and students were shown detailed presentations of the congress. Chairman of the TEKNOFEST Supervisory Board and head of the Turkiye Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) Selchuk Bayraktar, who visited the Azerbaijani pavilion at the festival, was invited to the International Astronautical Congress.

 

Visitors were also presented with startup projects, as well as the interactive game Kızılelma and the virtual game “VR trip to the Moon”.

 

A total of 16 Azerbaijani teams with more than 100 students made it to the final stage of the competition. At the Akıllı ulaşım competition, Driver’s Eye from Baku State University took first place. Second place in the ISIF 2023 International Patents Competition went to Jeyhun Khalilov, chairman of the Public Association Promoting  Development of New Technologies (project Electronic Inverter Controller), and third place (Tarım teknolojisi competition) to the Smart Drip Irrigation System project of Baku State University. Meanwhile, the Ejder Drones team, made up of young people from Azerbaijan and Turkiye, was awarded third place at university and higher in the Disaster Management category ‘Technologies for the Benefit of Humanity’.

 

The festival also included meetings with teaching and student staff from leading Turkish universities (Istanbul Technical University, Galatasaray University, Yeditepe University, Boğaziçi University, Istanbul Nishantashi University, Marmara University, Bahçeşehir University and Ibn Haldun University).

 

TEKNOFEST 2023 went down in history as the “largest event in the world”, with over 2.5 million visitors. Participation in the festival was another demonstration of friendship, brotherhood and strategic alliance between the two countries.

 

Since 2018, TEKNOFEST has been held annually in the fraternal country with the joint organizational support of the Turkiye Technology Team Foundation (T3) led by the Turkish Ministry of Industry & Technology and Selcuk Bayraktar, in partnership with over 60 Turkish public institutions, universities and private companies.

 

On 26–29 May 2022, TEKNOFEST was held in Azerbaijan – for the first time outside Turkiye. Some 300,000 visitors attended TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan. Three international events and eight technology competitions were organized as part of the festival.
