Ministry official took part in 6th China International Supply Chain & Logistics Expo

The 6th China International Supply Chain & Logistics Expo is taking place from 22 to 24 May in Chengdu, People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The main objective of the expo was to discuss achievements in the direction of ensuring the continuity of the supply chain, increasing the competitiveness of international transport corridors, especially the Trans-Caspian international Transport Route (Middle Corridor). It also focused on supporting the participation of PRC logistics companies in these processes.

Fariz Aliyev, head of the department of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, who took part in the expo, spoke about the achievements and reforms carried out in Azerbaijan’s transport system in recent years.

During the speech, information was provided on measures implemented towards the development of the Middle Corridor, Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway, Baku International Sea Trade Port and the Digital Transport and Logistics Information System, which is planned to be created for the purpose of digitalizing transport operations.

The expo also features a stand with information on the country’s institutions operating in the railway, maritime and aviation sectors.

It should be noted that the expo is an effective platform that brings together companies providing transport and logistics services along the corridors. Information about the Middle Corridor at the expo aroused the interest of companies operating in the transport sector. Representation of our country at such events will enhance the potential of the Middle Corridor in the future and increase the dynamics of the volume of cargo passing through it.
