Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, State Tourism Agency issue joint statement

As part of the “Great Return” programme, the directions for visits by Azerbaijani citizens to the territories liberated from occupation are expanding.

From April 27, 2024, citizens will also be able to visit Lachin city along with a trip to Shusha city and Sugovushan settlement in private passenger cars. Citizens can obtain a travel permit starting from April 26 through the “Yolumuz Qarabagha” portal (www.yolumuzqarabaga.az). The validity of the issued permits is two days. It will be possible to get to Lachin city by the route Jabrayil–Zangilan–Gubadli–Lachin route, entering from Alkhanli checkpoint of Fuzuli region, passing through “Zafar Yolu” (Victory Road) and Horadiz settlement.

A maximum of nine people, including one driver, may travel in private passenger cars. When we say ‘private passenger cars’, we mean vehicles of category B with the state registration plate of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Drivers of passenger cars should familiarize themselves with the travel rules, information on mine safety through the “Yolumuz Garabagha” portal and inform those travelling with them about it, to comply mine safety, not to go beyond the route after entering the territories liberated from occupation and passing relevant mine safety inspection, be careful at intersections and follow the rules along the route.

Before travelling, citizens can book rooms by contacting hotels and other accommodation facilities on the portal.
