Ministry of Digital Development and Transport organized event on occasion of Girls in ICT Day

On the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, with the support of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency and the Association of Women Entrepreneurship Development in Azerbaijan, an event called “Digital Girls” was held. The event was organized on the occasion of the international  Girls in ICT Day, which is celebrated today.

The main objective of the initiative was to support girls aged 10 to 15 to discover their interests and potential in information and communications technology (ICT) and to encourage them to study and build a career in this field.

Sixty schoolgirls who took part in the event had an opportunity to improve their ICT knowledge and skills and learnt useful information on choosing a future career.

It should be noted that Girls in ICT Day, established by the International Telecommunication Union, is celebrated annually on the fourth Thursday of April. The aim is to increase girls’ interest in the technological sphere and encourage them to take an active part in it.
