About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev delivered a speech at a roundtable discussion on artificial intelligence in Abu Dhabi.

The event highlighted the great potential to further expand cooperation between the two countries in the fields of artificial intelligence, digitalization, cybersecurity, and human capital development.

It was noted that Azerbaijan has adopted a National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, and detailed information was provided on the existing mechanisms for AI implementation.
