About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev Met with Senior Official of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with Brendan Hanrahan, Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the implementation of the documents signed in Washington on August 8, as well as on prospects for bilateral cooperation in transport, transit, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other areas.

The discussions also covered opportunities for cooperation to enhance the potential of the Middle Corridor and to advance the launch of the Zangezur Corridor.
