About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with ITU Secretary-General

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Doreen Bogdan-Martin in Geneva.

The meeting discussed preparations for the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25), scheduled to be held in Baku from 17 to 28 November, the work done so far, and cooperation in this area.

At the same time, there was an exchange of views on the establishment of the ITU Acceleration Centre in our country, ITU-led cybersecurity training programs, and experience-sharing initiatives to enhance innovation opportunities and foster a dynamic digital ecosystem.
