About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with IFC’s Regional Director for Europe

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev has met with the newly appointed International Finance Corporation (IFC) Regional Director for Europe Mrs. Rana Karadsheh.

During the meeting, they discussed cooperation issues related to infrastructure projects being implemented in Azerbaijan.

They also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the next phase of the Baku International Sea Trade Port, as well as in aviation, airports, railroads, highways and fiber optic infrastructure projects.
