About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, who is currently visiting Azerbaijan.

The meeting discussed the current and future prospects for transport cooperation between the two countries, the steps needed to launch the full-scale operation of the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars (BTK) railway project, and the improvement of the regulatory framework in the road transport sector.

At the same time, an exchange of views was held on potential cooperation in the fields of ICT, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and innovation.
