About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev meets with Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with a delegation led by Farzaneh Sadegh, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the existing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of railway and road transport.

They also exchanged views on future joint efforts aimed at increasing transit opportunities, improving infrastructure, enhancing logistics and transport operations, simplifying procedures at border crossing points, expediting cargo transportation, and digitalizing related processes.
