About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev Meets with German Ambassador to Azerbaijan

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with Dirk Lölke, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Azerbaijan.

An exchange of views took place on the development of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany, particularly on issues related to the Middle Corridor, aviation, digitalisation and training.

The meeting also discussed opportunities to further develop the Middle Corridor, transform Azerbaijan into a regional digital hub, and expand cooperation with German technology companies in artificial intelligence, Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT) and data centres.
