About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

The International Transport Forum (ITF) Summit is the world’s largest gathering of transport ministers and the premier global transport policy event. The 2026 theme, “Funding Resilient Transport”, is the second in the 2025–2027 ITF Summit trilogy on transport resilience.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev Meets with Czech Transport Minister

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with Ivan Bednárik, Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic.

The meeting focused on expanding transport ties between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic, developing cooperation in road and air transport, increasing international freight traffic, and promoting the Middle Corridor.

The sides also exchanged views on cooperation within international organizations, particularly the work of the International Transport Forum (ITF) and the results achieved during Azerbaijan’s presidency of the Forum.
