About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev Meets with Cisco Senior Vice President and General Manager, Customer Experience, EMEA

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with Adele Trombetta, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Customer Experience for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) at Cisco.

The meeting focused on Azerbaijan’s priorities in digital transformation and artificial intelligence, the modernisation of telecommunications infrastructure, the development of data centres and the “Government Cloud”, as well as opportunities for cooperation in cybersecurity and innovation.

The sides also exchanged views on the potential establishment of a regional centre, including a Cisco Academy, the implementation of joint research and innovation projects, and the training of professionals in digital skills.
