Minister Rashad Nabiyev attends graduation day of Technest scholarship programme in Shirvan

A graduation day was held for young people who have studied web programming in the city of Sabirabad under Technest scholarship programme run by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, and 10 graduates were awarded certificates. Through the 7-month course, participants gained professional knowledge and skills in web design, content development, network security configuration and other areas.

 

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev attended the graduation day organized in the city of Shirvan.

 

Representatives of the local community, the city executive, and young people attended the event.

 

Congratulating the youth on their success, the minister said that the agency is providing important assistance to the development of society by supporting the training of highly qualified ICT professionals in the country. According to the results of this year’s Technest scholarship programme, well-known companies have already employed 90 percent of the graduates. Specializing young people in ICT in the regions will make an important contribution to human capital formation in the regions.

 

“We believe that Technest is an important investment in the successful future of the young generation in Azerbaijan,” Rashad Nabiyev stressed.

 

It should be noted that Technest scholarship programme was launched in October 2021 on the initiative of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency. The aim of the programme is to accelerate the training of the national information technology personal, address existing gaps in this area and contribute to the digital development in the country. The agency works closely with 12 training centers in this area. Under the programme, students study different areas such as cloud solutions, cloud administration, big databases, cybersecurity, automation, electronics, different programming languages, UX/UI design.

 

The total number of students and current graduates who have received a scholarship between 2021 and 2022 is 618. Some 3,000 new scholarships are expected to be awarded in the academic year 2022–2023.
