Meeting Held with CITIC Group Delegation at the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport
Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samaddin Asadov met with a delegation from CITIC Group, one of China’s largest state-owned enterprises, led by CITIC Group Vice President Benjamin Bao.
During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for cooperation on the artificial intelligence (AI) computing platform project planned to be implemented in Baku. One of the key topics discussed was the potential involvement of CITIC Group as a partner, including in the financing of the project and the implementation of construction and installation works. The platform is envisaged to be implemented in phases, with an initial capacity of up to 1 GW.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for cooperation with CITIC Group within the framework of AZCON Holding’s projects in the areas of transport and communications, as well as projects related to the National Artificial Intelligence Centre.
The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to develop the digital economy in Baku and expand international strategic partnerships.
CITIC Group operates across five core business areas: banking, non-bank financial services, industrial manufacturing, advanced materials, and new-type urbanization. The company’s total assets amount to approximately USD 1.5 trillion.
