About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to widen the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

MDDT Hosts Meeting with TikTok Representatives

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MDDT) hosted a meeting with representatives of TikTok.

Rashad Hasanov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, met with representatives of TikTok.

The meeting focused on opportunities for cooperation in digital development, including TikTok’s potential involvement in implementing the Action Plan for Accelerating Digital Development in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2028.

The two sides exchanged views on enhancing digital literacy, implementing joint educational initiatives, promoting local digital startups, and legislative amendments concerning children’s access to social media platforms.

The meeting also underscored the importance of continued cooperation in fostering a safe digital environment and supporting the innovation ecosystem.
