About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

MDDT hosts event in connection with professional holiday

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MDDT) hosted an event on the occasion of 6 December, the professional holiday of communication and information technology workers.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Javid Gurbanov congratulated communications workers on the holiday.

In his speech, Javid Gurbanov spoke about the innovations implemented in the communications and ICT industry in recent years and emphasized the role of employees in the successes achieved.

Then an awarding ceremony was held for those who were awarded the title of ‘Master of Communications’ and Certificates of Honour by MDDT on the occasion of the professional holiday and the 143rd anniversary of the establishment of telephone communications in our country.
