Joint radio monitoring carried out in areas bordering Georgia
According to the agreement reached between the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Communications Commission of Georgia, a joint radio monitoring was carried out in the border areas on 2–5 June 2023 with the participation of specialists from both countries.
The purpose of radio monitoring is to regulate mobile communication and TV & radio broadcasting networks in the border areas, effective use of radio frequency resources in connection with the transition to new technologies, and preventing the impact of mutual interference.
Based on the results of the radio monitoring, discussions were held on 6–7 June in Tbilisi, between specialists on the issues of compliance of TV & radio broadcasting with international requirements and bilateral protocols in the border areas and coordination of radio frequency channels for introduction of new generation technologies (5G, DAB+, etc.).
Following the discussions, it was decided to implement appropriate measures to regulate the mentioned technologies in the border areas.
Specialists from the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Information and Communication Technologies Agency, the State Administration of Radio Frequencies and mobile operators took part in the joint radio monitoring and discussions.
