International journal “Applied and Computational Mathematics” rose to 2nd place in the world by impact factor index

The Impact Factor of the international journal “Applied and Computational Mathematics” rose from 4.771 to 10. The 5-year impact factor rose from 3.172 to 5.2.

The journal is published under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Research Institute of Applied Mathematics at Baku State University (BSU) and the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS), with the support of the Institute of Management Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education (MSE).

The journal took 2nd place among 267 editions worldwide on the list of Web of Science Core Collection in the Applied Mathematics category and the 1st place in the European Union. As in previous years, it maintains its leadership among CIS countries. It should also be noted that the impact factor of the journal “SIAM REVIEW” (USA), which ranks 1st among 267 journals, is 10.2.

Note that in 2008, the journal was included in the list of Science Citation Index Expanded by Thomson Reuters agency (now Clarivate Analytics). According to the agency’s annual report (Journal Citation Reports 2009), in 2010, for the first time in the history of Azerbaijani science, the journal was awarded an impact factor of 0.633.

The editor emeritus of the journal is Tamer Bashar, professor at the University of Illinois (USA), chief editors –  Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Applied Mathematics of Baku State University, Academician Fikret Aliyev, Director General of the Institute of Management Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education, Academician Ali Abbasov, deputy editors-in-chief are corresponding member of ANAS Vagif Guliyev, Professor at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Nazim Mahmudov, Scientific Secretary at the Research  Institute of Applied Mathematics of BSU, Associate Professor Nargiz Safarova and  executive editor is Nazila Hajiyeva, leading research scientist  at the BSU Research Institute of Applied Mathematics. The editorial staff of the journal includes eminent scientists from about 20 countries of the world.

To date, 57 issues of the journal have been published, with about 600 articles by authors from over 50 countries.

The journal, which is published four times a year, publishes the latest high-level peer-reviewed scientific results in relevant areas of modern applied and computational mathematics. The journal currently has more than 500 well-known reviewers. Published for 22 years, the journal has had scientific exchange with 200 international scientific institutions from more than 50 countries.
