IDDA Holds Press Conference on 2025 Results
The Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) held a press conference to present the results of its activities in 2025. During the event, the Agency shared with the public the outcomes of the projects and initiatives it implemented over the past year.
At the press conference, Farid Osmanov, Chairman of the Board of the Agency, delivered a detailed report on the results of 2025. He noted that one of the most significant developments in the field of digitalization in 2025 was the approval of the “Digital Development Concept in the Republic of Azerbaijan” by the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He emphasized that the Agency’s activities in the field of digital development are based on this conceptual approach: “At the heart of the Concept lies the idea of a “Digital Azerbaijan,” which structures digital development around three main pillars: digital government, digital society, and digital business. The foundation of this infrastructure is provided by the Electronic Government Information System (EGIS).”
Based on the information presented at the conference, throughout 2025, relevant measures were implemented to assess the level of digitalization in government institutions, and information resources and information systems were analyzed. As a result, the Agency carried out phased work to establish the digital development architecture and, together with 25 government agencies, prepared 17 Digitalization Roadmaps. Information was also provided regarding efforts in the legislative field.
It was reported that in 2025, efforts continued to expand the coverage of digital services provided through the “MyGov” platform. Over the course of the year, the number of users on the “MyGov” platform increased 2.3 times compared to the previous period, surpassing 2 million users in total. The use of digital documents on the platform more than doubled, reaching 2.6 million, while the use of digital services increased 17-fold, reaching 366,000.
It was also noted that the functional capabilities and integration environment of “MyGov ID” have been expanded, with over 100 government and private information systems integrated into the platform. During the reporting year, nearly 800,000 new users joined “MyGov ID,” bringing the total number of users to over 5 million.
The speech also highlighted the achievements in developing the country’s innovation ecosystem. Over the past year, more than 300 functional products (MVPs) were created, and nearly 40 incubation and acceleration programs were organized to support the entrepreneurial environment. In addition, as part of the expansion of innovation infrastructure, Innovation Centers were launched at Nakhchivan State University and Ganja Agrarian University, and a Research and Development Laboratory was established at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
In 2025, a total of 47 companies registered at the Technopark, including 43 local and 4 foreign companies. From 2023 to the end of 2025, a total of 165 companies were registered at the Technopark, comprising 155 local and 10 foreign companies.
During the year, cooperation continued to export ICT products of resident companies, as well as the Agency’s digital government products and services, to countries in Central Asia and Africa.
In addition, EPAM Systems, a global leader in digital transformation and IT consulting, has launched its operations in Azerbaijan. The representative office will not only perform operational functions but will also act as an innovation center, supporting the implementation of large-scale digitalization projects.
It was noted that significant progress has also been made in strengthening digital literacy and increasing ICT workforce capacity. Within the programs implemented by the Agency, over 500 participants have improved their knowledge and skills in modern technologies. As part of the “IT SkillsBridge” internship program, implemented in collaboration with Andersen Lab, 114 participants took part in intensive training during the initial phase, while 138–149 participants continued their training in the current phase. In addition, the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center has trained 200 graduates.
The conference also touched upon the work carried out in the field of nuclear research within the Agency’s areas of activity. It was reported that several initiatives have been implemented to strengthen scientific research capacity, expand international cooperation, and apply advanced technologies in this field.
At the end of the event, questions from members of the media were addressed.
