ICTA awarded winners of essay contest

An award ceremony was held to award the winners of the essay contest “Regulation of Internet Services in the Digital Age” announced by the Information and Communication Technologies Agency (ICTA), Azerbaijan’s regulatory agency for telecommunications and postal services.
In his opening speech, ICTA Board Chairman Nail Mardanov noted the high interest in the essay contest, the wide study of the topics by journalists and experts and the significance of the issues raised. He thanked the participants for their contribution to the contest and wished them new successes.
Speaking at the event, Rashad Bayramov, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Development and Transport, regarded this essay contest as an important step towards regulating internet services in our country and expanding awareness-raising efforts in this area.
Congratulating the winners, he wished them success in their future activities.
This was followed by a presentation on the activities of the ICTA.
It should be noted that the main objective of the contest is to educate and inform media representatives, experts, as well as the general public about the current status of regulatory framework in the field of Internet and telecommunication services in the country.
Topics such as “Regulatory framework and information security issues in telecommunications”, “Opportunities for using internet telecommunications infrastructure, accessibility and transparency of information” and “Indicators determining the quality of internet service, availability of electronic services in this area” were also covered.
The contest received more than 60 applications. According to the terms and conditions, 18 participants were awarded top prizes, and 4 – stimulating prizes.
At the end of the event, the winners were presented with certificates, prizes and gifts.
