An event on “Road Connecting Continents: Sustainable Transport and Logistics along the Silk Road – Europe and Latin America” was held as part of COP29.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummatov.
At the panel discussion, the work done locally and internationally to enhance the relevance and stability of the Middle Corridor, built on the historical traces of the Silk Road, was discussed. It was noted that the capacity of the corridor is increasing year after year. Information was also provided on the work and results of modernizing the country’s transport infrastructure, improving the efficiency of operations and implementing innovative digital solutions.
At the same time, it was emphasized that after the implementation of internationally significant projects such as the expansion of Baku International Sea Trade Port and Silk Way Cargo Village, our country also has the potential to play an important role as a transit hub for cargo traffic between Latin America and Asia.
The event once again demonstrated the importance of steps taken to modernize the historic Silk Road, enhance its sustainability and strengthen regional connectivity.
