Draft Action Plan for 2025 of Working Group on Technology and Innovation discussed
On 23 December, the Working Group on Technology and Innovation of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, which is managed by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, held a regular meeting. The management of the Commission’s Secretariat, head and members of the working group and private sector participants attended the meeting.
The meeting elaborated on the measures proposed by the relevant entities to include in the Action Plan for 2025 of the Technology and Innovation Working Group and the possibility for these measures to have a direct positive impact on the results of the Global Innovation Index sub-indicators and other related issues.
Making an opening speech, the head of the working group, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov noted that the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and other relevant institutions have taken relevant measures to improve Azerbaijan’s position in the Global Innovation Index for 2025.
At the same time, he said that the members of the Working Group on Technology and Innovation had made proposals to include in the Action Plan for 2025 measures that have a direct positive impact on the sub-indicators of the Global Innovation Index.
During the meeting, to make the mentioned proposals more concrete and measurable, he gave relevant recommendations and instructions to the members of the working group and instructed them to summarize the proposals and submit them to the secretariat of the working group within a short period of time.
Head of the Commission Secretariat Vusal Shikhaliyev noted that the work of the working group played an important role in improving the country’s performance in the Global Innovation Index. He added that for the next year, the secretariat of the working group has formulated measures in accordance with the Index’s sub-indicator methodology.
He continued by stating that our main objective at today’s meeting was to improve the Action Plan for next year by identifying result-oriented measures so that the implementation of these measures would ultimately have a positive impact on both the Global Innovation Index and sectoral indicators. In addition, he noted the identification of key quality indicators and timelines for the implementation of the proposals received.
Based on the opinions expressed at the meeting, the working group made relevant proposals and adopted decisions.
